Glass jar palletizer after the pasteurization tunnel: fully automatic stacking of hot jars
Robust, hygienic and smart
In production lines for jam, pickles, gherkins, olives and other glass-packed foods, the end of the line is usually where hot, slippery jars coming out of the pasteurization tunnel are stacked on pallets by hand. It is hard, slow and risky work that causes breakage and waste and ties up several workers. The Nano Machine glass jar palletizer turns this operation into a fully automatic, precise and fast process.
The machine's design rests on three principles: robustness, hygiene and intelligence. The body is made entirely of stainless steel, resists moisture and the harsh conditions of the production hall, and is fully washable. A modular design allows precise adjustment for different jar sizes, and the PLC control system with an HMI touch screen manages the whole process without constant human intervention.
How does a glass jar palletizer work?
The machine is installed directly after the pasteurization tunnel. To learn more about this thermal process, see the Pasteurization article on Wikipedia.
Jar infeed
After leaving the pasteurization tunnel, the product jars are carried by conveyor to the palletizer infeed.
Sorting and layer forming
The machine arranges the jars in orderly rows and forms a complete layer according to the pattern defined in the PLC.
Layer transfer with the gripper
A mechanical gripper gently lifts the complete layer of jars and moves it to a standard 120 × 100 cm pallet.
Stacking on the pallet
The gripper places the layer precisely on the pallet or on a cardboard tier sheet, and the process repeats for the next layers.
Pallet change
The operator places an empty pallet, puts tier sheets between the layers and removes the full pallet with a forklift or pallet jack.

Glass jar palletizer technical specifications
The Nano Machine glass jar palletizer for the end of the pasteurization tunnel is built with a capacity of 368 jars per minute, a power rating of 6.5 kW, dimensions of 910 × 260 × 360 cm, a net weight of 3000 kg, PLC and HMI control and a stainless steel body, and it needs only one operator. Its modular design allows customisation for different jar sizes.
Technical features and unique capabilities of the glass jar palletizer
Smart control and easy operation
The PLC control system and HMI touch screen let the operator set the stacking pattern, number of rows and machine speed for each type of jar with a few taps, and fully monitor its performance. Sensors throughout the machine detect the presence of jars and manage the stacking process without errors.
Modular flexibility
The palletizer's modular design makes it suitable for all sizes of glass jars with metal lids, so you can easily adjust your production line for a variety of products.
Full stainless steel, hygienic construction
Besides being very strong, the stainless steel body is fully washable and compatible with strict food industry hygiene standards such as GMP.
Fast, seamless integration
The machine is designed to connect to your existing production line without major changes to infrastructure and to be up and running in the shortest possible time.

Applications of the glass jar palletizer after the pasteurization tunnel
Any product packed in glass jars with metal lids that passes through a pasteurization tunnel can benefit from this machine, including:
- Pickle production lines: gherkins, mixed pickles and pickled garlic
- Jam and marmalade production lines
- Glass-packed foods: olives, tomato paste and fruit compotes
- Sauces and condiments in glass jars
How a glass jar palletizer improves productivity and quality
Installing a glass jar palletizer is a direct investment in productivity and quality. With a stacking capacity of 368 jars per minute, the end-of-line bottleneck, usually caused by limited labour, disappears completely: more output in less time and a more competitive factory.
Machine stacking produces uniform, stable and solid pallets that cause no problems in storage or transport. Breakage of hot, slippery jars during manual handling is also one of the main sources of waste in factories; by eliminating hand contact, the palletizer keeps breakage to a minimum and prevents the loss of product and capital.
For optimal maintenance of the glass jar palletizer, daily cleaning of the conveyors and gripper to remove glass particles and product syrup, regular inspection of the sensors and checking the stacking pattern settings when changing products are recommended. The stainless steel body makes cleaning easy, and during commissioning the Nano Machine after-sales team trains the operator on a maintenance schedule suited to your line capacity. Storing the stacking pattern for each jar size in the HMI also makes product changeovers possible in a few minutes.
Why choose the Nano Machine glass jar palletizer?
- Cost savings: replaces 4 to 5 workers and cuts wage, insurance and staff management costs, with a fast payback
- Safety and hygiene: no manual handling of hot jars and a full stainless steel body protect staff and product
- Engineered design: a robust, low-wear machine with a long service life for continuous industrial operation
- Full support: installation, commissioning, training and after-sales service by the Nano Machine technical team
Nano Machine builds end-of-line equipment for canning and glass-packed food lines and designed this machine based on experience from projects in Iran and exports to Turkey and the Persian Gulf countries.
Summary for production managers
